ToolShed Tested publishes power-tool reviews, buying guides, comparisons, and deal coverage. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how readers can contact us about privacy questions.

Information We Collect

We collect information you choose to send us, such as your email address and message content when you contact us, send a correction, request the Workshop Dispatch, or submit a reader tip.

We also collect limited technical and usage data through analytics tools, server logs, and affiliate-link tracking. This may include pages visited, approximate location, browser/device type, referral source, links clicked, and interaction events.

How We Use Information

• Respond to reader emails, corrections, review suggestions, and business inquiries.
• Send Workshop Dispatch replies or updates when a reader requests them by email.
• Improve site speed, navigation, content quality, affiliate-link reliability, and buying-guide coverage.
• Measure which pages, categories, and product links are useful to readers.
• Protect the site from abuse, spam, scraping, and technical errors.

Analytics, Cookies, and Affiliate Links

ToolShed Tested uses Google Analytics and may use Vercel Analytics in production to understand aggregate traffic, performance, and reader behavior. These services may use cookies or similar technologies depending on your browser and privacy settings.

Our site includes affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may set its own cookies or tracking parameters to attribute a purchase. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.

Email and Workshop Dispatch Requests

The current Workshop Dispatch signup uses a direct email request to hello@toolshedtested.com. We do not currently run a self-service account system or sell reader email lists. You can ask us to stop sending updates or delete your contact message at any time.

Third-Party Services

• Google Analytics: traffic and event measurement.
• Vercel Analytics: production performance and usage measurement when enabled.
• Amazon Associates: affiliate attribution for qualifying purchases.
• Email providers: delivery and storage of messages readers send to us.

Third-party services handle information according to their own privacy policies. We do not control retailer, analytics, browser, or email-provider privacy practices.

Your Choices

• Use browser settings or privacy extensions to block or delete cookies.
• Avoid affiliate tracking by navigating directly to a retailer instead of using product links.
• Ask us to delete or stop using contact information you sent directly to ToolShed Tested.
• Use Google's analytics opt-out tools if you do not want Google Analytics measurement in supported browsers.

Data Security and Retention

We keep reader messages only as long as needed to respond, maintain correction history, protect the site, or operate ToolShed Tested. No website can guarantee perfect security, but we keep access limited and do not intentionally publish private reader contact information.

Children's Privacy

ToolShed Tested is written for adults researching tools and equipment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
